Over the counter acne treatments

Don’t be afraid of soap and water!

Yes, in the treatment of acne, soap and water can be your best friend. If you don’t have a regular pattern of washing every morning and night, then this is something you should seriously consider. Most acne is caused by a build up of dirt or oil which blocks the pores of the skin. By washing regularly, you can remove this layer and allow your skin to breathe naturally. So, soap and water is by far the easiest way to stop acne from occuring in the first place.

Many over the counter acne treatments contain something called Benzoyl Peroxide. This really helps to combat bacteria and remove it from affected areas. You’ll find it in many products and it is usually in the form of a cream.

Another commonly used liquid is Salicylic acid. You’ll find this in many acne lotions and it’s purpose is to help unblock any pores of the skin. It is very mild even though it is an acid and is recommended mainly for less severe outbreaks and to treat mild acne conditions.

There are also many natural treatments for acne that you can look into. Many people prefer natural treatments rather than the use of chemicals but obviously this is entirely up to the individual. You can use the internet to look up some of the many natural cures that are available. It shouldn’t take you too long to find something natural that can help in your acne treatment.

Buying over the counter acne treatments is just one way to help cure your acne problems but there are many ways you can do each day to prevent the acne from appearing at all. Just try to keep your skin clean at all times and have a regular cleansing pattern.
