Dealing with acne scars

Acne is a major problem on it’s own but the affects it leaves can be a more permanent one for many people. Acne scars can be a permanent reminder on the skin that acne has been a problem. These types of acne scars can be very different for different skin types and depending on how severe the acne was.

There various types of acne scars are so common that they all have their own classifications. Below we will list some of these, so that they can be recognized.

One of the more common types of acne scar is called the ice pick scar. This is especially common with a severe outbreak of acne and one that lasts for a long period of time. It can effect teenagers who are left with scarring on their foreheads and cheeks. It is called the ice pick scar because it leaves a relatively deep well in the skin, similar to what an ice pick leaves in the ice.

Hypertrophic scars are also ones associated with more severe acne. They tend to be quite thick in their appearance and difficult to cover up or remove.

There are many ways to try to remove or cover up acne scars. Using laser treatment is one of the fastest ways to do this but it is also one of the most expensive. It really depends on how severe the scarring is and what particular skin type you have, before you can choose the best method of reducing acne scars. You are recommended to seek to advice of a suitably qualified medical examiner who can look at your individual case and tell you what is best to try.

Dealing with acne scars doesn’t have to be a permanent issue and one which shouldn’t affect any part of your life.
